Play Facebook video in the background on a computer
On a computer the problem is a little different: facebook.com will keep a video playing in a background tab, but it is a feed, so it scrolls on to something else, autoplays what it likes, and gives you no way to keep one clip running while you work.
LoopRush turns the post into a plain audio track and plays it in a tab you can leave alone. It keeps playing while you switch windows, it repeats or shuffles a set, and your keyboard's media keys control it. There is no extension to install.
Step by step in any desktop browser
- On facebook.com, open the video and copy its address, or use Share then Copy link.
- Open looprush2.com in another tab and paste it.
- The sound extracts and starts playing.
- Switch to whatever you were doing. The tab keeps playing, and the play, pause and skip keys on your keyboard work.
Why no extension is needed
An extension would have to sit inside facebook.com and fight the feed for control of a video element. LoopRush does not touch the page at all: the audio is extracted on the server and played back as an ordinary audio track, which browsers are already happy to keep going in a background tab.
That also means it works the same in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, and on a work machine where extensions are locked down.
Long videos, and putting several together
Facebook posts are often long — talks, clips, whole segments — and a ten-minute video becomes a ten-minute track. Repeat one keeps it going; repeat all walks a stack and starts again at the top.
A stack is the unit here: paste several links, name it, and leave it playing while you work. It survives a reload, and signing in keeps it on your phone too.
What it cannot do
It only works with public videos. Anything limited to friends, to a private group, or taken down cannot be read.
It is not a downloader: nothing is saved to your computer, and the video stays on Facebook.
