TikTok audio with the screen off
Lock your phone and TikTok pauses. That is how the app is built; there is no screen-off toggle.
LoopRush takes the sound out of the video: paste the link, it saves the audio into a stack, and the stack plays like a playlist. Lock the screen and it keeps going, with play, pause and next on the lock screen where your browser supports MediaSession.
This is a web app you use alongside TikTok, not a TikTok setting.
Questions
- Why does TikTok stop when I lock my phone?
- TikTok is a video app and does not register as a background audio session, so the operating system suspends it when the screen turns off. There is no option in the app to change that.
- Which phones does this work on?
- Any phone whose browser keeps HTML5 audio playing in the background: Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android both do. Lock-screen controls depend on the browser's MediaSession support.
- Can I loop one sound?
- Yes. The player has repeat off, repeat all and repeat one, plus shuffle across a stack.
- Is it free?
- Yes. LoopRush is in free beta. Saving needs a Google sign-in so your stacks are kept; there is no TikTok login involved.
